Getting involved with ISOC Bangladesh chapter

The use of Internet in business, entertainment and communication medium is widely promoted now in day, but what is the substance and what is the hype? Who is going to give you an objective and unbiased view without trying to sell you anything? 

The only sort of organisation that can offer guidance through this extraordinary new world is one that is dedicated to the utility of the Internet for the benefit of all of its users. 

ISOC Bangladesh  is the only end-user Internet advocacy organisation in Bangladesh. It is a chapter of the global non-profit body, the Internet Society, ISOC, which has members from more than 170 countries world-wide. Its mission is to facilitate coordination, education, cooperation and activities that work towards Internet functionality and development. 

ISOC Bangladesh works closely with the organisations that ensure the smooth evolution of protocols and standards used on the Internet. It charters the Internet Architecture Board which has oversight responsibility for the architecture of Internet protocols, procedures and standards processes, through the work of the Internet Engineering Task Force, the Internet Research Task Force and the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority. A recent initiative is the formation of the Internet Societal Task Force, which seeks to identify ways in which the Internet can be a positive force in social and economic dimensions. 

Members of our Bangladesh chapter include Internet pioneers, people from reseach and academic institutes, Internet Service Providers, Web developers, educators, financial institutes, large and small businesses, old hands and inexperienced new ones. Our members make up a representative body with a local focus which is in a
unique position to bring together Internet expertise and Bangladeshi organisations, for mutual benefit. 

You may choose to be involved with ISOC Bangladesh either through MEMBERSHIP or through SPONSORSHIP. Whatever your choice, it will lead to opportunities for meeting and networking with ISOC Bangladesh members, the most Internet-experienced individuals and businesses in the country. You will make valuable and long-lasting connections to the people who know what's hype - and what's really possible.
